Everybody has anxiety. Nobody “owns” the experience of anxiety for any other person or can tell someone else what anxiety is or isn’t for it to be “real.”
We all have to experience anxiety. Can you imagine a world in which humans did not experience any anxiety?! That would be nuts!
Anxiety can help us survive and can serve as a warning and a guide, but when anxiety begins to take over and interfere with your daily experiences, that’s a problem.
Sometimes it’s hard to know if the ways in which you experience anxiety are a problem, especially when everybody talks about their own anxiety all the time and you try to compare your experiences with someone else’s.
